Varnish Koi lightens almost the entire coat, leaving only the boney parts such as the bridge of the nose and the knees unaffected, and also creates a hard-edged koi red blanket extending from the topline in a mostly sloid way. As the Boucle ages, the Appaloosa Spots the Boucle is generally born with fades into the roaning of the body. It can create mottled skin and white in tail and mane, though this isn’t always the case.
