Residual markings are optional free markings on ANY boucle – Import or Foal – they are not genetic and can appear without being in he phenotype or genotype.

They can give the boucle one or more of the following:

• Face Markings
  • Minimum Examples: Snips, Lip Spots, Stars, Blazes
  • Maximum Examples: Wide blaze (no wider than the forehead), Badger-face
• Leg Markings
  • Minimum Examples: Coronets, Heel Spots, Socks
  • Maximum Examples: High Socks (up to the knee)
