Related to the Merle gene, Tabby lightens the whole coat with a see-through pale/creamy colour and leaves parts of the coat untouched in the shape of a cat’s tabby pattern!

In its homozygous form, Tabby has a different expression: see Double Tabby.

Merle and Tabby combine to make Rosette Tabby.

Tabby and Girafe combine to make Clouded Tabby.

When combined with the Abricot dilution, Tabby has an Abricot Tabby expression (see gallery).

Design Guide

To make creamy/pale markings that make the base hue, try white patterns with “Multiply” or “Soft Light” blend mode in Photoshop and pull down opacity a bit!
